The
Pleasure Craft Operator Card is not a
requirement for renting a houseboat
at this time.
If you are interested in obtaining your
license, Happy Days Houseboats is an official
testing location for the Canadian Coast
Guard. To "Challenge the Exam" please
contact us in advance of your arrival.
When you arrive at Happy Days Marina,
we encourage you to get settled in or "moved on" to your boat. This helps to
make you comfortable and starts the familiarization
process. We have an informative video
that we encourage every group member to
watch because your "group" is your "crew" and the captain is only as good as
his crew.
Our enthusiastic and experienced staff
will then come on board with you to answer
any of your questions, explain how the
boat operates and guide you through your
driving/operation instruction. We will
spend as much time as is required for
you to feel safe and competent with the
operation of your vessel.
Upon completion of your dockside check-out,
Happy Days will issue a temporary license,
in accordance with the Canadian Coast
Guard safety requirements, for the time
you are on board for your houseboating
vacation.
